Good Afternoon Harvesters,
“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” - Proverbs 29:25 NIV
Sunday, I know was tough due to considering that people pleasing, approval seeking, truly is idolatry. Again, what is idolatry? It is spending more time pursuing after anything more than you pursue God.
Ouch! That still stings.
John 12:42-43 still hits me hard and breaks my heart for so many today who still can't break free of the fear of man. It states, “…But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved human praise more than praise from God.”
Unfortunately, we tend to not do what we know we should for Kingdom purposes because we long for human praise rather than the praise of God. So often our greatest enemy is ourselves. Too often we forget who we are in Christ and that HE is the only one we should worry about pleasing.
I said it Sunday and I want to remind you again, you are not what you think, they think about you. You are only what God says about you. That's it. That's the only thing that truly matters.
I pray that as you close out this week and prepare for Sunday that you will remember who God says you are.
Looking forward to a fun time with Trunk or Treat and Sunday's service as we close out this series. Hope to see you!
