Harvest Community Family,
What a beautiful last few days. Our God is so awesome in how He has created this world and the order of seasons, rain, sunshine and often times just what we need during a difficult season to get us all a shot of encouragement. He is constantly communicating with us the extent of why He is best at making decisions for our life.
Too many times we fail at just listening to His voice. We drown it out with great music, even Christian music. We drown it out with just the background of life noise, instead of just taking time to truly listen to His Spirit's promptings, leading and wisdom.
Sunday we were reminded that we can communicate with the Great I AM and we can do so confidently. 1 John 5:14 reminds us, "“This is the confidence we have in approaching God…” I believe that too often we miss what God has for us and the willingness to answer because we lack the confidence in coming to ask Him as His child. If our view of God is an angry father then we will be afraid to come and ask but as we already know, when we are in Christ we are His child. And a child should have the trust and confidence in a Good Father that He is ready and willing to listen.
If God is willing a ready to listen and respond then why don't we get what we ask for. Well I argue that we do but the answer is not always what we want it to be. Remember that God responds and the most common are either direct, delayed or denied and all of those are responses it just may not be what WE are wanting in His answer. There are two ways that a father can be good to his children - by what he does allow them to have and what he doesn’t allow them to have. Be thankful that God does not give you everything you want. Again, His way is always what is not just good but what is best.
I have been praying for all of you during these strange days. My prayers have been for God to give you peace, assurance of His plan for your life and that you would know how much you are loved by Him. Take time to communicate with Him, He longs to hear from you.
Sunday is Pentecost Sunday! Let us celebrate together the gift of the Holy Spirit sent to us to comfort, guide, convict and direct each and everyone of us.
