Helping people discover Christ through the seasons of life

Matthew 5:6 states, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

So have you been sipping from the lid or gulping down from the never ending Living Water bottle of God this week? I hope it has been the gulping, I know I have, especially this week, with all that has been going on Nationally.  So thankful for a God who is Sovereign and has all things under His control.

Every morning this week I have heard a song that has been a help to me and remind me that God is in control, has been "Way Maker"  The words of that song are comforting and a good reminder of what we all need.
The chorus states,
(You are) Way Maker
Miracle Worker
Promise Keeper
Light in the darkness my God that is who You are

And then the bridge states,
Even when I don't see it You're working
Even when I don't feel it You're working
You never stop You never stop working
You never stop You never stop working

Sunday we have been called to action to do our part in helping to meet the physical needs so that we can help meet the spiritual needs as well. Often times the Gospel message falls on ears who can not hear it because their physical hunger and thirst is blocking the need for the spiritual.  It is up to us to help in the best ways that we can the physical need.

I remember one vacation that we took as a family when the girls were little to Branson, MO. They were having a great time until Olivia was so hot and thirsty that it overwhelmed her to the point that she couldn't enjoy what we were doing at the time.  It was not until she received the physical need of water that her spirit to happiness could be realized.  At that moment nothing else mattered.

The same is for those who don't know Christ.  Often times, the physical need out weighs the spiritual and when we can help meet that need we should because when we do so we are doing it to Jesus. Matthew 25 reminds all of us who are in Christ, "Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are You talking about?  When did we ever see You hungry and feed You, thirsty and give You a drink?  And when did we ever see You sick or in prison and come to You?'  Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was Me—you did it to Me.’ "

I said Sunday that, "Often times we want God's kingdom to reign all around us...we just don't want God to reign within us."  This whole Kingdom Experiment is about having us live not from the outside in, but from the inside out.  That what God does in us is lived out through us. Our life in Christ should affect our life in the world.
