Helping people discover Christ through the seasons of life

How Optimistic Are You?

I shared Sunday that I'm optimistic about so many things in life.  God is amazing and if you haven't realized yet I hope you will.  I know that this world is full of negativity and it is easier to be half cup empty people instead of half cup full.

This passage from Proverbs 11:27 really gnawed on me this week., "If you search for good you will find favor; but if you search for evil it will find you." What are you searching for?  Are you wanting to see the negative in this world or looking for what God is doing?  I hope you are searching for the good.

Remember we are to be optimistic based on what God says, not on what we feel.  I have those days, all of us do where we don't "feel" very positive but I am going to hold to what God's Word tells me and seek after Him for my optimism.

If you have forgotten already the eight things from Romans 8 to be optimistic here they are again.

  1. My sins are forgiven and my eternity is secure.
  2. Jesus is at the right hand of God praying for me.
  3. My future victory is greater than my present pain.
  4. My mind is filled with the peace of God.
  5. If God is for me, who can be against me?
  6. God's Spirit helps me in my weakness.
  7. God is working everything in my life for His good.
  8. Nothing can separate me from the love of God.

Looking forward to another great way to live positively on Sunday together. I'm optimistic that you will remember to set your clocks back this weekend!
