What is it about our spiritual enemy that he always seems to know when, where and how to come at us? Many times we when we think things are rolling right along, something always seems to come right in a catch us off guard.
They always tell you to never start a diet before the holidays. How true, how true. And yet we know they are coming every year. Yet, we seem to forget that we do have strength to battle the daily do-nut temptation or whatever hurt, hang-up or habit that seems to plague us.
Too many times we beat our selves up and end up giving up when we are tempted instead of remembering 1 Corinthians 10:12-13, "So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out [an escape] so that you can endure it."
I am so glad that we have a God who is faithful to us and is with us every step of the way. He wants the very best for our lives and has provided everything we need to live victoriously in this life. I pray that you will trust Him and remember that every temptation is an invitation to depend on Christ.
Sunday will be an opportunity to learn how to fight temptation. I pray that you will not give in to the temptation to skip Sunday morning but to fight, get out of bed and come so that fellowship with a group of believers can take place.
Have a great rest of the week and I will see you on Sunday!
