1 Corinthians 10:12 in The Message states, "Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence."
Too many times in our lives we continue to try and get by with confidence in our flesh when really what we truly needs is to place all of our confidence in Christ. He is the One, the only one that is worth placing all of our trust, hope and faith in.
Everyone always says you just need more self-confidence. I am self-aware enough to know that without the power of Christ in me, everything I do will not last. But if my confidence is in Him all things are possible according to His will and way in my life.
Each of us needs more God-confidence in our lives and the best way to remember or cultivate that is to remember that 1. My God is always for me."If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" Romans 8:31
2. My God always helps me. Hebrews 13:5-6, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.”
And 3. My God is still working in me. Philippians 1:6 reminds us, "…Being confident of this, that [God] who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
I’m confident, because I am not confident in myself. I have a God-confidence and it’s something deeper, that even when I am faithless, He is faithful. I’m cultivating a deep faith in the goodness of God because let me tell you what my God is…He is for me. My God is working in me. He is not finished with me yet. My God always helps me when I need it. That is a reason to stay confident and be able to live positively.
Sunday we begin the season of Advent! I am truly excited as God helps us to 'illuminate" our lives once again with focus of remembering His coming to us and His coming again. See you Sunday!
