Helping people discover Christ through the seasons of life

Good Afternoon Harvesters,

Sunday we began our series for Lent that takes us up to Easter Sunday.  It is called 'His Last' and we looked at some of the very last words that Jesus spoke from the cross found in Matthew 27:37-46, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" It is a painful and difficult time for Jesus as He is one the cross taking all of sin on Him to be able to atone for us enable the gift of salvation for all mankind.

We were reminded that there are often times we too cry out why?  Why did this have to happen or I don't understand why, God?  But even in those time we need to remember there are three things that never change with God. That HE IS GOOD, HE IS FOR ME and that HE IS WITH ME. And because of those three things we trust Him and lean into Him and His understanding and ways.

There are some things we will never get answers to while on this earth but that shouldn't change knowing that God is still with us.  I stated Sunday that I have learning to not ask "why?" But to ask "What?" What is it God that you want me to learn from this?  What is Your plan for me through these difficult days?  What is it that You want me to do?  When I do that it helps me to stay focused on His goodness and to watch for what He will do in my life and how He will use me for His purpose and plan.

We have a big Sunday coming with our Annual Soup Luncheon and Dessert Auction following our morning service.  You will not want to miss the opportunity to help our youth raise funds for their camp, retreats and activities throughout the year and the fantastic desserts that are available.  Hope to see you Sunday!
